A Chat With A Friend
Hi again
Don't get me wrong.
I did not mean anything. I know living in a Middle Eastern society, listening to the main stream Arabian media such as Aljazeera and many channels from Egypt and Jordan, who are intrigued by the conspiracy theory, and the blame game, might sometimes, pass some disingenuous ideas to our subconscious, which might surface every now and then in our daily conversations.
Simply, I think what happened in Iraq was the best thing can ever happen. Freeing Iraq from the tyranny of Saddam and his gang is a glorious day which must be celebrated all over the Iraqi nation and the Islamic world. Just have a look on what happened with the overthrowing of this dictator. Compare it with the days when he was ruling. You will see the benefits the Allies brought with them.
* Now I can call Iraq and instantly connect to my parents
* Now I can go to Iraq with out restrictions.
* Now I can send money to relatives and do charitable work to others, I do it with Western Union. I doesn't take more than three days.
*Common people are doing business, not just the family of the ruler as in the old days.
*Free press, free criticism, democratic procedures. Better than most of the world.
* Elections. Elected effective parliament as oppose to the rubber stamp parliament of Saddam, where the members had only two jobs to clap and agree. We had an election where 100% of the people elected Saddam !! This made all the tyrants of the world envious of Saddam
*Plans to build sewage systems, water stations, fiber optics telecommunications, although terrorists are attacking it. The plans are there, underway.
We never had any of the above mentioned under the rule of Saddam. Services were limited to his home town, and members of his clan.
The Allies have an excellent experience in post war Germany, Japan, Korea. They helped them all to draft a constitution, and they helped them to stand up again, and overcome a history of fascism.
compare South Korea and North Korea.
Compare Iraq which has the first or second largest oil reserve, with Jordan which many people call the Kingdom of thirst. There is nothing there, even the sea is dead. They live on American and Western subsidies. Still they have better services than Iraq of Saddam.
The Allies freed us from the cruelest tyranny in the modern history. We owe them a gratitude.
They helped to create a constitution, among the best, a democracy. They freed us from Saddam. Look to our neighbours and brothers in the Arab and Islamic world who suffer from medieval dictatorships, but they envy us for the freedom we have. They failed to do anything to overthrow their tyrants, since it is cruel beyond description.
It is the sacrifices of the Allies which brought us freedom. It is their sacrifices and our sacrifices which will bring peace and stability to the country in the face of terrorism.
Why don't we give them a chance to work, and finish their plans, which will serve both our and their interest. They brought all their expertise with them to Iraq.
Compare their attitude with that of the Wahabis "Saudis, Jordanians, Egyptians, north Africans, Ba'athists". They the allies came to bring life, while these extremists came to bring death. They came to disrupt this beautiful experience.
Did you notice that they don't care about innocent civilians, they target them intentionally. They brag about it in their press. They know that they are foreigners. A foreigner doesn't intend to stay for a long time, he knows he is leaving by his consent or force. They target civil services, schools, business areas, any thing civilian you just name it, is one of their targets.
Concerning the Arab and Muslim masses who are ruled by bloody dictators they have only one hope, since they fail to make a change by their own hands. It is that they are helped by or liberated by a foreign power and make the bad things good. You know from reading history, British liberated most of the Islamic world form the Ottoman empire which ruled Muslims for more than 500 years. During which they didn't build schools or hospitals. With the coming with British hospitals, schools, and roads were built. They created democratic institution. It is the British who freed us from the Turkish occupation.
"Strangely enough when you visit Iraq, you can see remnants of the Babylonians palaces, or the tower of Babel and many other buildings. But you see no monuments or towers or even mosques built by the Ottoman or Turkish occupation.
The same thing when you go to Egypt, You see the sphinx or the pyramids, but only a mosque mad of mud built by the great Ottomans it is called Sinan Mosque."
had they Allies didn't come to Iraq and overthrow Saddam, we will be hearing about Saddam the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, who knows maybe Saddam the 16th. As we read about Lewis the 16th the last king of royal France. Imagine the culture of fascism and tyranny we would be having.
Don't tell me it is for the oil, although this might be partially true . Since they have an interest in stabilizing the oil market, especially with high energy demand from all over the world. Again they and the responsible world share this interest including Sadam's allies France and Germany. Remember that Saddam offered the oil for $ 7 a barrel, the expulsion of all the Russian and French from the Iraqi oil fields, according to a Lebanese mediator who conveyed this message to the American administration, in return of not attacking his regime. The offer was rejected. Remember it is the Allies who helped the Muslims in Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan, and freed Kuwait.
Remember it is George Bush and Tony Blair who said that the natural resources of Iraq are for the people of Iraq, not Saddam who was stealing the oil revenues and distributing it on his family, and supporters in Jordan, Egypt , France, Germany, and the rest of the world. Remember it is the Americans and the British who urged the world to nullify the Iraqi debt, which will always hamper any economic progress.
Remember it is the American administration who donated $ 10 billions for the construction of Iraq.
Remember it is the American charities who are helping Iraqis, for instance;

Garry Sinise provided Iraqi students with bags and pencils

There are many more than I can recall
They don't tell you this in the Arabian media, such as Aljazeera which promote for terrorists. They just blame every thing on the Americans and their servants the Jews, as they blame it before on the British, French, Turkish, and so on the blame game never ends.
Compare the gallantry of Garry Sisine, to the rascality of a Saudi Arabian executive in the Saudi Arabian Red Crescent when he said on Aljazeera that our services will be restricted only to Sunnis provinces.
compare this attitude with that of the Saudi Arabians or Jordanians or Egyptians, or Qataris when they on their national TV ask the public that when they give a charity they must be sure that it doesn't go to the Shiite provinces. Or compare it with the Wahabis who target innocents.
The question is
" Who do do you think is better?" "Who do you think is evil?", "who should be considered a friend?" "who should we consider enemy?"
